Retinal Tear: A retinal tear happens when the clear, jelly-like stuff in the middle of your eye (vitreous) shrinks and pulls on the thin layer at the back of your eye (retina). This pulling can make a tear in the tissue and often comes with sudden symptoms like seeing floating specks and flashing lights.

Retinal Detachment: When there's fluid under your retina, it's called a retinal detachment. This usually occurs when fluid goes through a tear in the retina, causing it to lift away from the layers underneath.

Diabetic Retinopathy: If you have diabetes, the tiny blood vessels in the back of your eye can get damaged and leak fluid into the retina. This makes the retina swell, which can make your vision blurry or distorted. You might also develop abnormal blood vessels that can break and cause more vision problems.

Epiretinal Membrane: An epiretinal membrane is like a delicate, wrinkled film on top of your retina. It pulls on the retina and makes things look blurry or crooked. Macular Hole: A macular hole is a small gap in the center of your retina at the back of your eye (macula). It can happen because of abnormal pulling between the retina and vitreous or after an eye injury.

Macular Degeneration: In macular degeneration, the center of your retina starts to break down. This causes problems like blurry central vision or a blank spot in the middle of what you can see. There are two kinds: wet macular degeneration and dry macular degeneration. Most people start with the dry type, which can turn into the wet type in one or both eyes.

Retinitis Pigmentosa: Retinitis pigmentosa is a disease that runs in families and slowly damages the retina. It mainly affects night vision and side vision, making it harder to see in the dark and in your peripheral (side) vision.

Common symptoms
